He comes from a family with a rich musical heritage; his grandfather, Ustad Moinuddin Khan, was a renowned musician, while his father, Ismail Khan, serves as a music teacher. His mother, Kulsum Khan, is a homemaker. Zakir Khan also has two siblings: Zeeshan Khan, who leads a band as its singer, and Arbaaz Khan, who is a student.
