Mandira Bedi, born on April 15, 1972, in Calcutta (now Kolkata, West Bengal), hails from a Punjabi-speaking family based in Bombay. Her parents are Verinder Singh and Gita Bedi. She is related to the late Teji Singh, the wife of the late Marshal of the Indian Air Force, Arjan Singh. Mandira’s elder brother is involved in banking.
