Gauri Khan, born as Gauri Chhibber on 8th October 1970 in Delhi, is the daughter of Savita and Colonel Ramesh Chandra Chhibber, both belonging to Hoshiarpur and practicing the Hindu faith. Growing up in the suburbs of Panchsheel Park, Delhi, she attended Loreto Convent School for her early education, followed by high school at Modern School Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. Gauri graduated with a B.A. (Hons.) in History from Lady Shri Ram College.
