Eldhose P Raju, a nurse from Kerala, took a bold step to transform his career when he couldn’t find a job after returning from Qatar. Embracing his childhood passion for plants, he started a lotus garden on his terrace with unique bowl lotuses that were imported from Thailand, America, and Europe. Eventually, he registered his startup Raj Florals, and started supplying beautiful flowers to different parts of the country.
Social Media: The Game Changer Platform in Eldhose’s Life
When the lotuses bloomed, he took stunning pictures and shared them on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. That’s when he started receiving requests from people to buy his lotuses from different parts of India.
Requests were majorly coming from North India after his lotuses’ pictures went viral. This encouraged him to turn his passion into business. Since then, he began to supply lotus flowers and tubers under his brand Raj Florals to customers in cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Mumbai, and more.
Interestingly, people from Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad visited his house to collect lotus plants and bowls.

Eldhose cultivated nearly 20 varieties of lotuses, including Charming Lips, Da Sajib, Fire Bowl, Magnificent, and the Zhizun Qianban.
After setting up his startup Raj Florals, his house is now a colorful paradise covered with lotus flowers of all hues, with most of them arranged in bowls and cups to make them look nice. Once he receives the order, he carefully prepares them by ensuring dirt and water from the bowls are removed and are clean and ready for shipment.
Sharing the Valuable Knowledge: Hosting Workshops
As his business grew steadily and more and more people showed interest in his unique aquatic plants, Eldhose started conducting workshops and training sessions for people who were truly interested in starting their aquatic plants.
With his knowledge and expertise, Eldhose helps others to discover their passion. He shared tips and tricks about how to take care of the plants. Moreover, he never encourages them to buy more plants, rather he teaches them how to help their present plants bloom.
Eldhose’s Earnings
Eldhose’s Raj Florals plant business is growing well and he makes around Rs 30,000. His plants range from Rs 850 to Rs 3,500. With the support of his family, Eldhose finds joy in pursuing what he loves and respects his decision despite his different educational background.
