When Caleb Bradham created Brad’s Drink, it gained popularity soon and with bottling franchises and early marketing campaigns in 1902, the company Pepsi-Cola rapidly grew. However, after the WWII due to sugar price volatility in 1923 the company went bankrupt.

This marked a change in ownership, several times, and eventually the company reached into the hands and leadership of Charles Guth, president of Loft, Inc., who acquired and revitalize Persi-Cola in 1930s by reforming the recipe.
