Kitchens in India are not merely a room; it is the center of the house. It is where tales are mixed into curries, where memories boil with masalas, and where every serving dish has a tale. Yet despite all the affection that we invest in our food, the utensils by which we cook it have been, in most cases, something of a second thought. And that is what Cumin Co. decided to transform.

Cumin Co. is a toxin free kitchenware startup founded in February 2025 by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi and is redefining the meaning of cookware, making it safe, stylish, and durable. And 13.16 crore ($1.5 million) raised through Fireside Ventures and Huddle Ventures in its fresh round means that they are about to make their vision a reality in more homes in India.

Meet the Founders Behind Cumin Co., Who Asked “Why Is Cookware Still So Complicated?

At the top of Cumin Co. are two business visionaries, namely Udit Lekhi and Niharika Joshi, whose shared experience and enthusiasm have built an otherwise kitchen-based business into a national campaign to eat healthier and more consciously.

Founder Udit Lekhi is a 3x patent holder and an MBA graduate in Strategy and Marketing who has graduated with an MBA at the Indian School of Business. Udit has more than 13 years of strategy-consulting experience, fintech, payments, and digital transformation expertise, having managed high-performance teams and developed scalable solutions in various industries.

Co-Founder Niharika Joshi also has 3 patents and an MBA in Strategy and Leadership from the Indian School of Business. She is a proficient B2B expert with a long-standing history of growing companies to great heights. Her professional experience lies in enterprise sales, go-to-market planning, and the creation of strategic alliances with the C-suite.

About the Beginning

Cumin Co.’s story had a very simple and disturbing beginning. During home cooking, Niharika and Udit observed that their food was contaminated by amounts of aluminum that were leaking into their food through traditional cookware. Teflon was not brought back on the table (literally) due to its toxic chemicals, such as PTFE, PFOA, and PFAS. Cast iron required seasoning at all times, and ceramic was easy to chip.

And thus, they posed the question, the most apparent question: WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO FIND HEALTHY, BEAUTIFUL, AND EASY-TO-USE COOKWARE?

They had to construct their solution rather than settling. Cumin Co. was conceived with the idea of making kitchens simpler, not more difficult. Their answer? Cast iron enamel coated cookware India, toxin-free, with low maintenance and toxin-free, and made to work in Indian kitchens.

Collectively, Udit and Niharika are not just creating cookware- they are creating a movement. A change based on wellness, transparency, and sustainability. They are changing the definition of careful cooking with Cumin Co., to demonstrate that careful design and non-toxic materials may not be incompatible with the contemporary Indian kitchen.

Cooking Utensils That Know You

Cumin Co. is not pots and pans, but about the mindful experience. Their designs are created with people who place importance on both aesthetics and functionality. Everything is planned, the material they use, how each product fits in your hands, and all details are thought out.

Their cookware is created to move effortlessly between the stove and the table, stain-resistant, bold flavor-friendly, and attractive. It is not about following fads- it is about making the right choice.

And yes, it’s mom-approved.

The ₹13 Crore Funding Moment

Cumin Co. publicly announced an initial institutional round of 13.16 crore in August 2025, led by Fireside Ventures, and including Huddle Ventures. The funding will be used to:

  • Expand enamel-based coating manufacturing in India
  • Strengthen supply chain operations
  • Scale up in the premium cookware market

And it is not merely a cash injection–it is a vote of confidence in a brand that is putting stuff in the kettle which is really worthwhile.

The Numbers That Sizzle

Metric  Value
Monthly Recurring Revenue ₹1 crore
Growth Rate 20% month-on-month
Product Price Range ₹1,999 – ₹7,000
Target Audience Urban households earning ₹30–35L+ annually

These numbers aren’t just impressive; they’re proof that Cumin Co. is resonating with modern Indian consumers who want more from their cookware.

Where You’ll Find Cumin Co.

At present, the brand is sold via its own platform and Amazon. Yet they are not halting there. Cumin Co. is getting ready to roll out checkout-commerce applications such as Blinkit, Zepto, and Instamart- because in some instances, your dream pan must be delivered faster than your dinner guests.

Their packaging is free of plastic, their materials are ethically sourced, and their sustainability pledge is baked into every product.

Why Enamel-Coated Cast Iron Is The MVP

Let’s talk materials. Conventional non-stick pans emit poisonous toxins at high temperatures. Cast iron requires incessant maintenance. Ceramic chips are like a biscuit.

That is all solved by Cumin Co. enamel-coated cast-iron cookware. Safe, durable, and low maintenance. It has been designed to fit in Indian kitchens, i.e., it can process turmeric, tadka, and tomato gravy without straining.

It is generosity: serenity with each arousal.

A Note from the Founders

Cumin Co. was founded on one very innocent question: why was it so difficult to find healthy, beautiful, and user-friendly cookware? What we discovered were goods that were full of synthetic finishes or had a box full of maintenance. So, we created our own.”

And that is the type of founder energy we adore–inquisitive, deliberate, willing to ignore the status quo.

Engineered for Indian Kitchens

The Cumin Co. cookware is made to succeed in an Indian kitchen. It is stain-resistant, can take on any bold flavor, and can move directly to the table. It can cook rajma, risotto, or reheat leftovers; it is designed to do it.

And yes, it’s mom-approved.

The team doesn’t just design cookware; they cook with it. Every product is tried in actual kitchens with some experiments, like dal to dum biryani. And even though we all have our favorites, it is agreed that it is the cookware that works.

Cookware That Cares

Cumin Co. isn’t just another kitchen brand. It is an ode to the art of more basic cooking, safer food, and beautiful design. They are selecting intentionality in a world that has shortcuts. And having Rs 13 crore of funds, they are set to take that philosophy to many more Indian households.

Then, when your kitchen is feeling its time to get a bit of an upgrade, it might be time to make things hot with Cumin Co.
