While most kids his age are busy playing video games or scrolling through social media, Alex Butler from Seattle was quietly making moves that would soon change his life — all starting with a simple card game. At just 7 years old, Alex invented Taco vs. Burrito, a playful battle between two tasty rivals that started at his family’s game nights and quickly turned into a business sensation.

Something that began as a fun project soon caught attention. With encouragement from his mom Leslie, Alex launched a Kickstarter campaign and raised $25,000.

Not bad for a kid who probably still had to ask permission to stay up late!

Over the years, Taco vs. Burrito has sold more than 1.5 million copies worldwide and earned Alex over a million dollars. The game became a bestseller on Amazon and even caught the eye of big retailers, eventually leading to a deal with toy company PlayMonster.

But here’s the interesting part—despite all the success, Alex wasn’t emotionally attached to the game. He saw the opportunity and made smart moves to maximize its value.

Now, at 15, he’s setting his sights on bigger things: digital games, music, sports—you name it.

Through Alex’s journey, we can learn that creativity and ambition can start young. While other teenagers might be lost in their phones, Alex is busy building a legacy, proving that sometimes, all it takes is a spark, a little family support, and maybe a taco or two to turn a simple idea into something huge.
