Which?’s most recent poll reveals how EE O2 Vodafone and Three customers can save big on their phone bills. Customers using an out-of-contract phone from one of the “big four” mobile phone companies can save more than £200 annually.
Most people are paying more than they need to for their mobile phone package. The survey by consumer watchdog Which? found that 25% of mobile phone customers are out of contract, which means they could be paying more than they need to.
Some people may even be paying for a phone that they have already paid off. If you are out of contract, you could save hundreds of pounds by haggling with your current provider, changing your contract, or switching to a new provider with a better deal.
Despite loyalty to providers, customers aren’t always rewarded, and cheaper deals may be available elsewhere. If you want to save money, it’s time to take action and explore your options.
The average cost for an out-of-contract customer in the UK is about £19 per month, but customers from the biggest four providers, EE, O2, Vodafone, and Three pay an average of £22 per month.
Customers from these providers could save money by switching to a “low, medium, or high data deal. EE out-of-contract customers pay an average of £23.80 per month, which is higher than other providers.
Similarly, if you’re a Three customer and your contract has ended, you’ll need to continue paying your full rate as Three doesn’t offer any discounts for out-of-contract customers. Three customers spend on average £21.50 per month when they are out of contract.
On the other hand, split contracts are also available to Vodafone’s Evo subscribers. Clients on bundled contracts who signed up with the mobile phone company before Evo started in June 2021 may be paying extra since they are considered legacy clients.
Customers of Vodafone who are not under contract pay a monthly fee of £22.20. Lastly, according to the survey, O2 users who are not under a contract spend an average of £21.30 each month.
As many customers want to learn how EE O2 Vodafone and Three customers can save big on their phone bills. Well, the survey has also mentioned top picks for data packs which are Smarty, iD Mobile 20GB, and iD Mobile 200GB, respectively.
Smarty is a low data pack costing around £5 each month. On the other hand, iD Mobile 20GB, and iD Mobile 200GB are medium and high data packs costing £7 and £14 each month.
